The National Alliance of Tajikistan expresses deep condolences to the relatives of the victims and wishes a speedy and full recovery to those, who were injured during the last clashes on the Tajik-Kyrgyz borders.

Due to the fact that the most important duty of the state is to protect the borders and the lives and rights of its citizens as well as due to the inability of the Tajik State Committee for National Security (SCNS) to insure protection of the borders and lives of the citizens, the government of Tajikistan should dismiss head of the Committee, Saimumin Yatimov, who is responsible for increasing tensions at the borders, that put threats to the territorial integrity of Tajikistan.

We believe that the officials who do not fulfil their duties imposed on them by the people and state, should be held accountable for loss and injury of the citizens, who stood up to defend their lives and land themselves with their bare hands.

Tajikistan should urge the Kyrgyz side to punish those, who opened fire at our citizens.

The National Alliance of Tajikistan (NAT) also calls on the Tajik government to create, finally, a qualified group of experts and negotiator, who are capable of convincingly defending the citizens at the borders and the national interests of the country.

The alliance believes that a long-term, fair and mutually acceptable solution of the borders between Tajikistan and brotherly country Kyrgyzstan is only possible through negotiations and talks.

The alliance (NAT) categorically condemns the lack of political will, negligence and incompetence of the Tajik authorities in protecting the citizens and national interests. Incompetence of the Tajik authorities in negotiations and talks to solve the border conflicts is equal to their self-destruction, which is fraught with great dangers for the people and country.

In this regard, for preventing conflicts in the future between the Tajik and Kyrgyz people living at the borders, the National Alliance of Tajikistan calls on the country’s leadership to promptly instruct the concerned authorities to start necessary actions to take the controversial areas, where belong to Tajikistan according the maps of Soviet era, under their control till reaching a final settlement of the border conflicts.
